Earth Month At Aabani
Please join us in celebrating Earth Month at Aabani!
As many of you know, our name “Aabani” means “of the earth,” a reflection of our deep commitment to protecting and cherishing the world around us. Caring for the planet is at the heart of everything we do.
This Earth Month, Aabani Salon is honored to continue that commitment by raising awareness and supporting three meaningful non-profit organizations that are close to our hearts: Charity Water, the Appalachian Watershed Alliance, and The American Chestnut Foundation. Together, we hope to make a positive impact and give back to the earth that inspires us every day.
Earth Month Raffle Basket!
We are honored to offer a beautiful raffle basket featuring handcrafted pieces from our friends at Mangum Pottery, AllGood Coffee, and Artisans on Main, along with a curated collection of Aabani Salon favorites!
Tickets are $10 each, and all proceeds from the raffle go towards supporting The American Chestnut Foundation and their mission to restore the American Chestnut tree to its rightful place in our forests. Once a towering presence reaching heights of over 100 feet, the American Chestnut was devastated by a blight introduced from Asia. Today, it rarely grows beyond the shrub stage. It is not extinct, however – it is still fighting to return. The American Chestnut Foundation is dedicated to developing blight-resistant trees and bringing this vital species back to life across its native range.
We invite you to be a part of this restoration! Stop by Aabani Salon to purchase your raffle ticket for $10, or send your contribution via “Venmo Friends and Family” to @Brandibailey4 with the note “Earth Month Raffle.”
The winner will be announced April 30!
The Appalachian Watershed Alliance: Supporting Local Water Initiatives
With a deep commitment to protecting the natural resources of our own region, the Appalachian Watershed Alliance focuses on strengthening and supporting local watershed initiatives. Through meaningful partnerships, shared resources, and collaborative networks, they connect the many community-led efforts already caring for our waterways. Their alliance approach is rooted in uplifting local work, bringing neighbors together, and creating a more unified impact across the Appalachian region.
In addition to supporting existing efforts, the Appalachian Watershed Alliance also leads innovative watershed projects that address critical local needs. By piloting new ideas and blending traditional knowledge with modern practices, they develop solutions that can grow and be shared across nearby communities. Their work reflects a thoughtful, community-centered approach to nurturing healthier watersheds for generations to come.
The American Chestnut Foundation: Restoring a Forest Legacy
Delving further into our local roots, we are proud to support The American Chestnut Foundation, nestled right here in Asheville. The story of the American chestnut is one of resilience and loss. Once a dominant force in eastern U.S. forests, the American chestnut faced devastation from a deadly blight introduced from Asia. But it’s not extinct; it’s fighting to thrive again. The American Chestnut Foundation tirelessly works to develop blight-resistant strains and restore this iconic tree to its native habitat.

100% of the purchase price of this limited-edition Rosemary Mint candle will help fund clean water projects for communities in Ethiopia. Clean water access means better sanitation, more time for education, life-changing economic growth, and so much more.
Charity Water: Providing Clean Water, Changing Lives Around the World
At Aabani, we firmly believe that access to clean water is not just a necessity, but a fundamental human right. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Aveda to support Charity Water, an organization dedicated to ensuring communities worldwide have access to safe drinking water.
Clean water isn’t just about quenching thirst; it’s about fostering health, education, and economic opportunities. Through Charity Water’s locally-led projects, we’re helping rehabilitate old water systems, build new ones, and provide vital sanitation and hygiene training where it’s needed most.

Aabani is proud and excited to announce that we are sponsoring North Buncombe High School’s production of Shrek the Musical!
Shrek the Musical follows the story of an ogre who, wanting his swamp back, makes a deal with the short-tempered Lord Farquaad: rescue Princess Fiona from a dragon in exchange for his swamp. He teams up with a Donkey, and they find the princess, who has a secret curse that transforms her into an ogress at sunset. Ultimately, the unlikely heroes save each other and learn that true beauty is on the inside.
North Buncombe High School Theatre Department has had a long and strong tradition in producing plays and musicals to entertain, move and delight our community. These students work tirelessly in practice to deliver these stellar performances. We hope that you will join us by attending a production or supporting their program in any way you can!
