SHANTI ELIXIRS PRESENTS A FUNDRAISER IN CELEBRATION OF SARAH MCKINNEY’S LIFE WITH QUEEN BEE AND THE HONEYLOVERS
On the last day of summer, we unexpectedly lost a very bright light in our community. Sarah McKinney was in a fatal car accident leaving behind her two children, two dogs, two cats, hundreds if not millions of bees and the Asheville bee community. Now, this community is coming together to celebrate her life and legacy while raising funds to support her children, their bee colony, and local Asheville jazz band, Queen Bee and the Honeylovers.
The Mission: To celebrate the life of Sarah McKinney while supporting Asheville musicians and raising funds for Sarah’s two children.
Who: Shanti Elixirs presents this fundraiser in support of Sarah McKinney’s children with the support of Honey + the Hive, Asheville Bee Charmer, Bee City USA, Bee Centric Alliance, Root Down food truck, Salvage Station, Queen Bee and the Honeylovers and more.
Why: On the last day of summer, Asheville lost a very bright light in our community. Sarah McKinney, owner of Honey & the Hive, left us all too soon, but not before leaving a lasting impact on each and every one of our lives. She was an amazing mama, fabulous storyteller, sweet friend, talented teacher and a true honeybee advocate. Her beautiful smile brightened any room and her humble nature made everyone feel special.
We are gathering not only to celebrate Sarah’s life and impact on the Asheville community, but to also raise funds to support her two children.
Sarah had many incredible connections with community members throughout Western North Carolina and it is only fitting that so many are coming together to celebrate her life.
What: As a community, we will safely gather in celebration and support.
