Why Physical Therapy?
Most of us will experience pain or injury at some point in our lives. The biggest mistake we make is ignoring it, chalking it up to getting older, thinking it will go away, or thinking that we have to live with it. Unfortunately many people don’t realize how easy and simple it is to get permanent and lasting healing with physical therapy.
Untreated pain and injuries lead to deteriorating health, weight gain, missed activities, missed quality time with friends and family, surgeries, drugs, injections, loss of independence, frustration, fear, and depression. We can help you find the root cause of your pain. We then use simple, proven, natural methods to permanently relieve your pain and get you back to your normal life.
Wellness Programs
-LifeLong Strong - Group exercise for people age 50 and over, instructed by a physical therapist.
-WNC Fitness Lab - Small Group Exercise Classes and Personal Training. Instruction and movement education for optimal strength and conditioning across the lifespan. Small Group Classes are 45-60 minutes long with a max of 5 participants. It's like personal training, but more affordable. Personal Training is also offered to address specific goals and work around injuries.
-Acupuncture - Acupuncture sessions also include bodywork which may consist of massage, cupping or gua sha, depending on the client's needs.
Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners believe the human body has more than 2,000 acupuncture points connected by pathways or meridians. These pathways create an energy flow (Qi, pronounced "chee") through the body that is responsible for overall health. Disruption of the energy flow can cause disease. By applying acupuncture to certain points, it is thought to improve the flow of Qi, thereby improving health.
Studies have shown that acupuncture is effective for a variety of conditions. Acupuncture is the practice of penetrating the skin with thin, solid, metallic needles which are then activated through gentle and specific movements of the practitioner's hands or with electrical stimulation.
-Massage Therapy - Neuromuscular Therapy, Therapeutic Relaxation Massage, or Trigger Point Massage. Targeted soft tissue manipulation sessions designed to alleviate chronic and acute pain and address structural imbalances.
