When is Music on Main?
June 15th from 4pm – 9pm.
Where’s the best place to park?
The Ball Field at the Primary School is the dedicated Music on Main parking lot. Alternatively, public parking can also be found in the municipal lot on Main Street and behind Weaverville United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church. We always recommend carpooling, especially if you want to enjoy some beer and wine. Please remember that street parking on residential streets is prohibited in Weaverville.
To enter the Ball Field, approach from Brown Street or the south side of S. Main. Go north on S. Main past the ball field and pass the bus parking/pick up zone, then take a left into the bus parking/pick up zone. From there you will go through the gates of the Ball Field and be directed where to park. We have a special way we arrange cars to maximize the number that fit into the ball field. There will be parking attendants and lawn signs to help you throughout.
Handicap Parking is located opposite the bus parking.
Will there be bathrooms?
Yes, porta potties will be located along the side of the Frontier building next to the Kids Zone and also at the corner of Central and Main by Art Accents.
Can I bring my dog?
Music on Main is a crowded, bustling event with loud music. Yes, furry friends are welcome, but we only recommend bringing your pet if it will be happy in that environment.
Do I need a ticket?
Nope! Music on Main is free and open to the public. Come and go as you please!
What if it rains?
Music on Main is rain or shine. It’s unlikely we will have prolonged rain all evening, however there’s a chance we will have spotty afternoon rain. Keep an eye on the forecast and bring a raincoat, umbrella, good shoes, etc. because we will be having lots of fun wet or dry.
Is there seating?
There is no seating on the street. Bring a folding chair if you would like a comfy spot to sit and listen to the music. NEW THIS YEAR: There is a chalked section for folding chairs to allow for safe walking lanes on the side of the chairs. You are also welcome to bring snacks and a cooler with non-alcoholic beverages. The Food Court will have tables and chairs to use while eating.
Can I carry out a drink from a bar?
NEW THIS YEAR: You can carry out a “to go” drink from Maggie B’s, Twisted Laurel, and Main Street Grill:
- Your drink MUST be in plastic take out cup with our special sticker on it. Ask the bartender for it “to go” if you want to carry it outside.
- Only ONE drink per person can be ordered at a time.
- You CANNOT carry a “to go” drink outside of the Music on Main boundary, where the road is closed. There will be clear signage.
- Wristbands (see below) don’t count as an ID check for the bars, so you’ll have to get your ID checked when you order. You DO NOT need to purchase a wristband to buy a “to go” drink at a bar.
Will you still have the beer tent?
Yes! If you would like to purchase beer and wine from the tent on the street, first you will need to visit the ID Check Tent and purchase a wristband. Wristbands are $2. At the same time, you can purchase drink tokens. The ID Check Tent accepts cash, card, and venmo. You can exchange a drink token for draft beer ir wine in the Beer Tent. Please remember that no sales will take place at the Beer Tent. If you would like to buy more beer or wine from the Beer Tent, you will need to revisit the ID Check Tent and purchase more drink tokens.
Music on Main has obtained an ABC Special Event permit which includes a strict set of rules that we must follow:
- No outside alcohol can be brought inside the Music on Main boundary.
- Alcohol cannot be carried outside of the Music on Main boundary.
- We can only give one drink at a time per person.
Every year we reapply for an ABC’s Special Event permit to host Music on Main and are granted permission due to prior years’ compliance. Please help us to host this event in the future by following ABC’s rules.

How much do drinks cost?
Beer and Wine is $7
Bottled Water and La Croix are available for purchase at the ID Check Tent for $2. There is also free tap water in a jug at the ID Check Tent. Stay hydrated folks.
Should I bring my kids?
Yes! The Kids Zone, sponsored by Eliada Homes, is located in the Primary School Parking Lot. There will be fun activities like popcorn machine, hula hoops, toy trucks and cars, corn hole, photo booth, connect four, spike ball, ring toss, tic-tac-toe, checkers, bubbles, chalk, tricycles, and a fire truck. No alcohol is allowed in the Kids Zone. You can also carry in any food, snacks, non alcoholic drinks, coolers, strollers, bags, and anything else you need to keep your kids happy.
Where and what time is the road closed?
Main Street in between Merrimon and Brown will be closed from 11am – 10pm. The intersection of Merrimon and Main will be open all day when traveling on North Main only.
Is there something to eat?
Yes! A Food Court will be located in the Prescription Pad parking lot and will have food for purchase from Twisted Laurel, The Shoppe at the Prescription Pad, and Salt Face Mule. Also, Mary’s Mountain Cookies will be parked in the Frontier lot.
In addition, you can dine in or take out from Twisted Laurel, Maggie B’s and Main Street Grill within the Music on Main Space, and The Shoppe will be scooping their ice cream all night. Within two blocks you can find food at Glass Onion, Eluvium, and Blue Mountain Pizza.
You’re also welcome to bring a cooler – but please no alcoholic beverages or glass.
Who organizes Music on Main?
Music on Main began in 2015 from a group of locals who loved Weaverville. They volunteered their time and energy to create this free community outdoor concert just for the love of Weaverville. Today it is organized by the Weaverville Business Association, a non-government and nonprofit, with support from the Town of Weaverville. Music on Main has always been for the people, by the people. We always appreciate all of our volunteers who help us produce this free concert open to everyone.
Can I visit the rest of Main Street and still hear the music?
The music can be heard all down Main Street and many of our other wonderful businesses will be open! We encourage you to sit on their patios and eat, drink, and listen. Check out Leveller, Eluvium, Main Street Grill, Glass Onion, Well Bred, and Blue Mountain Pizza.
Is there anything to do after the music ends at 9pm?
Yep! Check out Eluvium and Twisted Laurel, open until 10.
