DESCRIPTION:Mike and Isak have a decades-long musical dialogue of fiddle and banjo\, guitar and harmonica\, ranging from Appalachian old-time into improvisation and original compositions. \nBased in Southwest Virginia\, both are co-founders of the Black Twig Pickers\, a band that also includes Nathan Bowles and Leveller’s own Sally Anne Morgan\, and which in nearly a quarter-century of activity has released many albums and toured widely. \nMike and Isak also play together in Eight Point Star\, in a new quartet with cellist Kaily Schenker (Solar Hex) and guitarist Jordan Perry\, and in other combinations. Mike’s “Evening Measures” album\, a collection of hardanger-style and octave fiddle performances\, came out on Vhf Records recently and he is just back from a run of solo shows in England and Belgium. \nThe format for this will be different from our other shows in that we will be doing it during normal business hours.

The band’s live show swims between tasty acoustic\, and rockin’ electric sounds. The group was founded in 2007 and has been touring throughout the United States since. \n

This year is our 20th Anniversary of being open on the beautiful I-26 northern corridor in North Carolina. In celebration we will have Roger Howell\, acclaimed fiddle player and his band.   We will also have representatives of western North Carolina attractions\, accommodations\, and quaint towns.
